JamTango Milonga, Thursday 19th October

Eight p.m. to midnight, at the JamCafe (see link on the right for a map).

Each entry represents one tanda, cortinas are by Charlie Parker.

Please add questions and comments below. I want people to suggest artists or styles that are under-represented, or over-represented. This is your best chance to get your favourite music played. Unless you're Marek or Martin. ;-)

The list seems GREAT(!) but as I love the traditional tangos and am not being able to come before 10:30pm I will have to survive to dancing to Piazzolla, which is very hard for me.

Hola!

Wouldn't dare to suggest anything as my taste seems to be quite extreme compared to line up, but at least could ask - Is there any particular reason not to play Electrotango on those milongas? Under Electrotango I mean Gotan Project, Carlos Libedinskli, Max Masri, etc.

cheers

Thanks for the comments!

Since I know Piazzolla can be a little tough, this week we have three relatively easy pieces: Balada Para Un Loco, Por Una Cabeza (with Itzak Perlman), and Libertango (with Yo-Yo Ma). No marathons...

As for electronic music, I thought about it, but instead opted for more traditional music this time. If, however, I start getting bored at around 9:45 or 10, I might modify the playlist and slip in some Gotan or Bajofondo...
